Started from the bottom now i’m here.
Reading through all my blog posts beginning at the start of the semester, I am reminded just how far I have come.
The first few assignments for PR Pubs were SO frustrating for me. InDesign and Photoshop seemed impossible to figure out, and I spent many nights huffing and puffing at my computer while I painfully tried to execute the design I pictured in my head.
Then, it got easier.
Somewhere around the direct mailers and the newsletter, I started to feel much more confident and at ease with the programs. While I only knew how to do about 1/4 of the things I needed to do to make my designs, I was still able to create some really awesome pieces that I am proud of.
Looking back over all the assignments, the one I am most proud of is the direct mailers. The one I wish I would have spent more time on and out a bit more effort into is the newsletter. I underestimated how much time I was going to need to complete the assignment, and ended up not spending as much time on it as I would have liked.
If I could go back I would put a few more hours into it, and probably end up with something much more portfolio worthy.
Overall, I’m really excited with the progress i’ve made and how far i’ve come since the start of the class. I can now tell potential employers that I am a *beginner* with InDesign and Photoshop.
